Sage seeks to support diverse communities whose work aligns with our areas of interest, where appropriate, and as resources allow. For this reason, a funding request may seek support for projects, programs, or events that are delivered to various language communities. To ensure a full, fair, and timely review, it is necessary that all requests and supporting documentation be provided in the English language.

Following Sage review and decision, the request submitter will be notified via email from the Sage Funding & Giving portal. Submission of a funding request does not guarantee approval.

In certain circumstances, following discussion with the Requestor, Sage may approve an amount different than the one originally requested. This may reflect strategy, budget, or impact considerations necessary for Sage.
-
Sage understands the need for organizations to support education and initiatives for healthcare providers, patients and patient advocates, the scientific community, and the public. We evaluate each submission on its merits and reserve the right to decline a funding request for many potential reasons including, but not limited to, the following:
- Request is not aligned to Sage’s Funding & Giving objectives or otherwise not aligned to our areas of interests
- Request is duplicative of other funded activities
- Sage has limited budget available
- Request is does not comply with applicable law, industry best practices and codes, or Sage policies and procedures
- Request is focused on the provision of medical care or for out-of-pocket medical care expenses, including transportation and lodging in connection with the provision of medical care
- Request is to support a specific individual instead of an eligible entity
- Request is for capital campaigns, building funds, or operating and other overhead expenses (e.g., salaries, benefits, furniture, office equipment, rent, or utilities)
- Request did not meet the required timelines
- Request is for advocacy or lobbying activities directed towards specific legislation
- Request includes costs and expenses that do not have an apparent link with the purpose of the request
-
If the initiative related to an approved funding request changes from what was submitted in the original request, the submitter must immediately inform us at fundingandgiving@sagerx.com. Documentation of the change will be required and is subject to review prior to re-approval.
